Our founder and Pastor, Elder Su-San Cannon-Spain is a native of Midland, Texas, born to the parentage of the (late) Elder Truman Cannon, Jr. and Mrs. Frances King Cannon.  She accepted Christ at the age of 26 and was filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost shortly thereafter.

   

       Elder Spain served under the tutelage of one pastor,  the late Bishop John L. Johnson and his late wife, Lady Alma K. Johnson for more than 40 years.  At her home church, Greater Progressive Church of God in Christ, she served in numerous  roles such as: Sunday School Teacher of the Young Adults; Secretary of the YPWW Department; Choir Director; and Commissioner of Music.  In the Greater Fort Worth District, where her Pastor was the Superintendent, she served as the Commissioner of Music and Young Women's Christian Council President.  In the Southern Region, she served as the Secretary to the President of Evangelism (1996-2000).  She was not only a member of the Texas Northeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Churches of God in Christ, she served as the  Executive Secretary to the Texas Northeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdictional Choir;  Secretary to the President of Department of Evangelism; 1st Vice President of the jurisdictional choir; Young Women's Christian Council President;  and Jurisdictional Department of Women's Music Coordinator.

        While serving, Elder Spain accepted the call into the ministry in 1996.   She was ordained by the late, Bishop J. Neaul Haynes and his late daughter, Mother Pia Haynes Williams, Supervisor of Women, as an Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ, in 2012.  During that same year,  she conceived and birthed a ministry.  The spirit of the Lord told her to call it "Divine Deliverance Ministries."

       After years of praying, fasting, and seeking spiritual guidance, our Pastor embraced "The Call;" and resigned (11/2021) from her offices and positions of the Churches of God in Christ, Inc. to walk into the calling she believed the Lord bestowed upon her.

       In 2022, she was ordained as an Elder and installed as the Pastor of the Divine Deliverance Temple of Praise, by Bishop Kevin R. Richardson Sr. of Hope Fellowship in Suitland, MD.

       Elder Spain's  passion for singing gospel music opened many doors for her to share the platform with several phenomenal and notable artists such as: Shirley Caesar, Dorothy Norwood, Micah Stampley, and the list goes on.

       She is an entrepreneur and business owner (Blessed Hands Home Services); a proud mother of two boys and two girls.  She is also the proud grandmother of three grandsons and two granddaughters.  Her love for family and friends is priceless.

       Most of all, Elder Spain  is a child of the King who has a heart for God’s people. Her zeal and passion for Christ, compelled her to say “Yes” to His will and to teach the unadulterated gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear.
